Introduction to Shawo Island Central Fishing Port

Sha Wo Island Central fishing Port was established in 1978 and established in early 1982. In early 1990s, Sha Wo Island Central Fishing Port was qualified as a first-class fishing port. In August 2010, it was approved as the first "National Civilized Fishing Port" by the Ministry of Agriculture. In November 2013, it was approved as a provincial modern fishery park by Shandong Provincial Department of Marine and Fishery, National Development and Reform Commission and the Department of Finance. In 2015, it was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture to build the central fishing port, which was completed in September 2019 and passed acceptance in August 2020. At present, the fishing port has 24 fishing boat berths with a total length of 1,080 meters and a harbor pool of 42 hectares, which can meet the berthing needs of 10,000-ton ocean-going fishing boats. The port area has complete supporting facilities such as power supply, oil supply, water supply and drainage, fire protection, communication, navigation guidance and aid. In July 2022, Shawo Island Central Fishing Port successfully obtained the fishery port operation license, becoming the second fishing port in Shandong Province and the first one in Weihai City. In August 2022, the provincial coastal Office approved the opening of berths 1-7 of Shawo Island Central Fishing Port, and Shawo Island Central Fishing Port became the first fishing port in the province to be approved with this qualification.
